Burns & McDonnell for Kansas City Power & Light (now Evergy) partnered with Crown-Electric Eng. & Mfg. Middletown Ohio – (a successor to the old Westinghouse Iso Phase Bus division) to create and install a custom Main Bus tap at a major gas turbine power/substation.

This customized power tap will connect a new nearby Solar Farm’s generation directly into the trunk bus that is presently dedicated to
the GT site.

This highly customized 15kV, 5,000 amp Main Bus Duct’s tap, includes a Crown Electric SD (Super Duty) Disconnect Switch in-line coupled to a 15kV, 63kA NBS Citadel Generator Circuit Breaker – ANSI C 37.013 certified at KEMA Arnhem, The Netherlands, for super Rugged, Versatile system protection, switching and maintainability.
